CellJam is an instrument used to prevent cellular phones from receiving signals from or transmitting signals to base stations. CellJam effectively disables cellular phones. These devices can be used in practically any location, where silence is expected.

There would be no need for CellJam if everyone followed phone etiquettes. But the rapid proliferation of cell phones eventually raised problems such as their potential use to invade privacy, contribute to academic cheating, or even aid in industrial espionage.

How it works?

CellJam overpowers the cell phone by transmitting a signal on the same frequency and at a high enough power that the two signals collide and cancel each other out. Cell phones are designed to add power if they experience low level interference, so the jammer must recognize & match the power increase the phone. The result will be “NO NETWORK”.

Is it harmful?

CellJam only interferes the receiving capability of mobile units, hence

CellJam is not harmful to mobile phones.
Land phones & Wi-fi networks are not affected.
According to the test results, the signal emitted by CellJam is not harmful to human body.
